For any credit-by-exam target, Excelsior's own examinations and the CLEP and DSST families the transfer policy also accepts, we build the readiness, never the attempt: the exam's content outline decomposed into a study map, condensed notes per domain, practice questions in the exam's formats with answer logic explained, and a dated plan aimed at a passing sit with margin. The exams run proctored with identity verification, which makes the boundary mechanical: you sit every one, alone, on camera. What we sell is the difference between attempting and passing, and at per-credit tuition, a passed exam is the cheapest course in the catalog by an order of magnitude.
The fork this site is named for
Nearly every Excelsior requirement offers a choice: take the instructor-led course, eight or fifteen weeks of deliverables, or test out through an approved exam where one exists. The fork decision is strategy, not preference: exams reward strong self-studiers with prior exposure to the material, while courses reward those who want structure, feedback, and gradebook margin. Our fork consult runs free, requirement by requirement: which of your remaining credits have exam routes, which of those your background can realistically clear, and which belong on the course path with the desks behind it.
What the prep kit includes
- The content outline decomposed: every domain weighted the way the exam weights it
- Condensed study notes per domain, built from the outline's own vocabulary
- Practice questions at pace with why-this-answer and why-not-the-others explained
- A dated plan sized to your calendar, with a go-or-wait readiness call before you book
- Chat coaching for the domains that refuse to click, any hour
The acceleration math, told straight
Exam-path acceleration is Excelsior's only genuine fast lane, and it is real: up to 90 of a bachelor's 120 credits can arrive from transfer sources including exams, and every exam passed deletes a term-length course and its per-credit sticker. The honest caveat rides alongside: a failed sit costs the fee and the calendar, which is why the readiness call is part of the product, and why we will sometimes say "take the course," particularly where the gradebook's C-or-better gen-ed rule makes course-path margin the safer buy, per the grading manual.
The line, held in writing
Credit-by-exam sits are proctored, identity-verified, and yours alone, every time; our lane is preparation and the fork strategy around it. Anyone offering to sit an Excelsior examination for you is offering identity fraud on camera, and we are permanently, structurally, the other kind of help.
